Sunan ad-Darimi

باب إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ:
Chapter: When dinner is served and prayer is called
Hadith 1315
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ، فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ".
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If dinner is served and the time for prayer also arrives, then eat the food first."
Hadith 1316
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ، فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When dinner is served and the iqamah is pronounced, then eat the food first."
