باب في فَضْلِ الصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ:
Chapter: Virtue of the first row
Hadith 1299
أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ عِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ"يَسْتَغْفِرُ لِلصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ ثَلَاثًا، وَلِلصَّفِّ الثَّانِي مَرَّةً" .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate for forgiveness three times for those in the first row, and would supplicate for forgiveness once for those in the second row.
Hadith 1300
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَشْيَبُ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ عِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، نَحْوَهُ.
Sayyiduna Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the same manner (through a different chain).
