باب مَا أُمِرَ الإِمَامُ مِنَ التَّخْفِيفِ في الصَّلاَةِ:
Chapter: Imam’s instruction to lighten the prayer
Hadith 1293
أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَنْبأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَتَأَخَّرُ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ مِمَّا يُطِيلُ بِنَا فِيهَا فُلَانٌ، فَمَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشَدَّ غَضَبًا فِي مَوْعِظَةٍ مِنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ . فَقَالَ: "أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُنَفِّرِينَ، فَمَنْ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيَتَجَوَّزْ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ الْكَبِيرَ وَالضَّعِيفَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ".
Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I am delayed in the Fajr prayer because of the lengthy prayer of so-and-so person. The narrator said: I have never seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so severe in admonition and anger as he was that day. Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O people! Some of you are spreading aversion. Whoever leads the people in prayer should make it light, because among the worshippers behind him there may be an elderly, a weak, or someone with a need.”
Hadith 1294
أَخْبَرَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "أَخَفَّ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً فِي تَمَامٍ".
Sayyiduna Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead the prayer in a manner that was very light, gentle, and complete.
