باب في فَضْلِ الصَّلَوَاتِ:
Chapter: The Virtue of Prayers
Hadith 1216
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ، كَمَثَلِ نَهْرٍ جَارٍ عَذْبٍ عَلَى بَاب أَحَدِكُمْ، يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the obligatory prayers is like a sweet river flowing at your door, from which a person bathes five times a day."
Hadith 1217
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهَرًا بِبَاب: أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ، مَاذَا تَقُولُونَ ذَلِكَ مُبْقِيًا مِنْ دَرَنِهِ ؟"قَالُوا: لَا يُبْقِي مِنْ دَرَنِهِ . قَالَ: "كَذَلِكَ مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ، يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِنَّ الْخَطَايَا" . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ: حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عِنْدِي أَصَحُّ.
It is narrated from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "If there were a river at the door of one of you in which he bathed five times a day, do you think any dirt would remain on him?" They replied: "No dirt would remain." He said: "That is the example of the five daily prayers. Allah wipes away sins with them."
