Hadith 1203
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) explained in «﴿وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ ...﴾» [النساء 43/4] that by «عابري سبيل» is meant: a traveler.
Hadith 1204
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The meaning of the aforementioned verse is that one may pass through the mosque in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), but should not sit down.
Hadith 1205
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، قَالَ: "الْجُنُبُ يَمُرُّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، وَلَا يَقْعُدُ فِيهِ"، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: وَلا جُنُبًا إِلا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ سورة النساء آية 43.
Abu Ubaidah said: A person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) may pass through the mosque, but he should not sit in it. As evidence, he recited this verse: «﴿وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ﴾» .
Hadith 1206
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، وَسَالِمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَا: "يَمُرُّ وَلَا يَقْعُدُ فِيهِ".
Salim and Saeed, may Allah have mercy on them both, said: He may pass by, but he will not sit.
Hadith 1207
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to walk in the mosque while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), and we did not consider there to be any harm in it.
