باب مَنْ أَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ في دُبُرِهَا:
Chapter: One Who Has Anal Intercourse with His Wife
Hadith 1170
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: "مَنْ أَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ فِي دُبُرِهَا فَهُوَ مِنْ الْمَرْأَةِ مِثْلُهُ مِنْ الرَّجُلِ، ثُمَّ تَلَا: وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ وَلا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ سورة البقرة آية 222، أَنْ تَعْتَزِلُوهُنَّ فِي الْمَحِيضِ: الْفَرْجَ، ثُمَّ تَلَا: نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ سورة البقرة آية 223 قَائِمَةً، وَقَاعِدَةً، وَمُقْبِلَةً، وَمُدْبِرَةً فِي الْفَرْجِ".
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Whoever has intercourse with his wife in her anus, it is equivalent to intercourse with a man (i.e., sodomy). As evidence, he recited the verse: "And they ask you about menstruation. Say: It is harm, so keep away from women during menstruation and do not approach them until they are pure. But when they have purified themselves, then go to them from where Allah has ordained for you." [البقره 222/2] In this, it is clarified that during menstruation, keep away from women, that is, from the vagina. Then he recited this verse from Surah Al-Baqarah: "Your wives are your fields, so come to your fields as you wish." He explained that whether standing, sitting, lying on the back, or lying face down (on the stomach), in whatever way you wish, only have intercourse in the vagina (the private part from where menstruation comes, only there).
Hadith 1171
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حَكِيمٍ الْأَثْرَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمَةَ الْهُجَيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ أَتَى حَائِضًا، أَوْ امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا، أَوْ كَاهِنًا فَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating woman, or approaches a woman from her behind, or goes to a soothsayer and believes what he says, then he has denied what was revealed to Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him." (That is, he has denied the Noble Qur'an.)
Hadith 1172
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الشَّقَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْقَعْقَاعِ الْجَرْمِيِّ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ آتِي امْرَأَتِي حَيْثُ شِئْتُ ؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: وَمِنْ أَيْنَ شِئْتُ ؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: وَكَيْفَ شِئْتُ ؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، إِنَّ هَذَا يُرِيدُ السُّوءَ، قَالَ: "لَا، مَحَاشُّ النِّسَاءِ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ"، سُئِلَ عَبْد اللَّهِ تَقُولُ بِهِ ؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
Abu al-Qaqa’ (Abdullah bin Khalid) al-Jarmi said: A man came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked: O Abu Abdur Rahman! May I approach my wife from wherever I wish? He replied: Yes. He asked: From whichever direction I wish? He replied: Yes. He asked again: In whatever manner I wish to have intercourse? He replied: Yes. Another man said: Sir! His intention (is something else, meaning his intention is to have intercourse in the anus), which is bad. He replied: No, the place of excretion (anus) of women is forbidden for you. Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Is this your view as well? He replied: Yes.
Hadith 1173
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ "يَكْرَهُ إِتْيَانَ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي دُبُرِهَا، وَيَعِيبُهُ عَيْبًا شَدِيدًا".
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) considered intercourse in a woman's anus to be extremely abhorrent and regarded it as a severe fault.
Hadith 1174
حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ: إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ سورة العنكبوت آية 28، قَالَ: "مَا نَزَا ذَكَرٌ عَلَى ذَكَرٍ حَتَّى كَانَ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ".
It is narrated from Amr bin Dinar regarding the verse: (Lut said to his people) "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one in the worlds has ever done before you...." [عنكبوت: 28/29], about this he said: Any man who mounts another man is from the people of Lut. (That is, he has become one of those who committed sodomy.)
Hadith 1175
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مُخَلَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ أَتَى امْرَأَتَهُ فِي دُبُرِهَا لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has intercourse with his wife in her anus, Allah Almighty will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 1176
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ حِطَّانَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ الْحَنَفِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ طَلْقٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِذَا أَحْدَثَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، فَلْيَنْصَرِفْ، وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي"، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لَا تَأْتُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي أَدْبَارِهِنَّ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ الْحَقِّ"، سُئِلَ عَبْد اللَّهِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ طَلْقٍ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ ؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Taliq (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any of you breaks his ablution during prayer, he should break the prayer, perform ablution, and then offer the prayer again." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "Do not have intercourse with women in their anus; Allah is not shy of stating the truth." Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: Was Ali bin Taliq a Companion? He replied: Yes.
Hadith 1177
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَبِي الْحُبَابِ، قَالَ: قُلْت لِابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: "مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْجَوَارِي حِينَ أُحَمِّضُ لَهُنَّ ؟، قَالَ: وَمَا التَّحْمِيضُ ؟ فَذَكَرْتُ الدُّبُرَ، فَقَالَ: هَلْ يَفْعَلُ ذَاكَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ؟".
Abu al-Habbab Sa'id bin Yasar said: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): What is your opinion if I practice tahmeedh with slave women? Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: What is tahmeedh? I said: The anus. He said: Can anyone among the Muslims do such (filthy act)?
Hadith 1178
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَوْمِي وَكَانَ مِنْ أَسْنَانِي، حَدَّثَنِي هَرَمِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: تَذَاكَرْنَا شَأْنَ النِّسَاءِ فِي مَجْلِسِ بَنِي وَاقِفٍ وَمَا يُؤْتَى مِنْهُنَّ، فَقَالَ خُزَيْمَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ الْحَقِّ لَا تَأْتُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي أَعْجَازِهِنَّ".
Harami bin Abdullah said: We were in a gathering of Banu Waqif discussing women and the enjoyment derived from them, when Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "O people! Allah does not shy away from the truth. Do not have intercourse with women in their back passage."
Hadith 1179
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، حَدَّثَنَا خُصَيْفٌ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: "كَانُوا يَجْتَنِبُونَ النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ، وَيَأْتُونَهُنَّ فِي أَدْبَارِهِنَّ، فَسَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: "وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ وَلا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ سورة البقرة آية 222، فِي الْفَرْجِ وَلَا تَعْدُوهُ".
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: People used to avoid women during menstruation, but they would approach them from the back (i.e., have intercourse with them). They asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about this, so Allah the Exalted revealed this command: "They ask you about menstruation. Say: It is a harm, so keep away from women during menstruation, and do not approach them until they are purified. But when they have purified themselves, then go to them from where Allah has permitted you." [بقره: 222/2] He said: The meaning of «﴿مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ﴾» is to use the vagina and do not go beyond that.
Hadith 1180
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ إِسْحَاق، حَدَّثَنِي أَبَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، وَسَعِيدٍ، وَمُجَاهِدٍ، وَعَطَاءٍ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا "يُنْكِرُونَ إِتْيَانَ النِّسَاءِ فِي أَدْبَارِهِنَّ، وَيَقُولُونَ: هُوَ الْكُفْرُ".
It is narrated about Tawoos, Saeed, Mujahid, and Ata’ (may Allah have mercy on them) that they strongly forbade intercourse with women in the anus (the place of excretion), and they said that this is disbelief.
