Hadith 1094
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I used to comb the blessed hair of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while I was in the state of menstruation.
Hadith 1095
The above-mentioned words are narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 1096
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ: "كُنَّ جَوَارِي ابْنِ عُمَرَ يَغْسِلْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ وَهُنَّ حُيَّضٌ، وَيُعْطِينَهُ الْخُمْرَةَ".
It is narrated from Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him) that the slave girls of Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would wash his feet while they were menstruating, and they would hand him the prayer mat.
Hadith 1097
أَخْبَرَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ
الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ، عَنْ
عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أُوتَى بِالْإِنَاءِ فَأَضَعُ فَمِي فَأَشْرَبُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ،
"فَيَضَعُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَهُ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي وَضَعْتُ فَيَشْرَبُ، وَأُوتَى بِالْعَرْقِ فَأَنْتَهِسُ، فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي وَضَعْتُ فَيَنْتَهِسُ، ثُمَّ يَأْمُرُنِي فَأَتَّزِرُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، وَكَانَ يُبَاشِرُنِي".
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A bowl of water would be brought to me and I would drink from it while I was menstruating, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would place his blessed mouth on the same spot and drink. And a bone with some meat on it would be brought to me, I would gnaw the meat off with my teeth, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would place his blessed mouth on the same spot and eat the meat. Then he would instruct me, and I would fasten my lower garment, and he would be intimate with me.
Hadith 1098
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ يُقَالُ: "الْحَائِضُ لَيْسَتْ الْحِيضَةُ فِي يَدِهَا، تَغْسِلُ يَدَهَا وَتَعْجِنُ وَتَنْبِذُ".
It is narrated from Imam Ibrahim Nakha'i, may Allah have mercy on him, that it was said: There is no menstruation in the hand of a menstruating woman; she can wash her hand and knead dough, and she can prepare nabidh.
Hadith 1099
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ يَقُولُ: "إِنَّ الْحَائِضَ حِيضَتُهَا لَيْسَتْ فِي يَدِهَا"، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: "الْحَائِضُ حُبُّ الْحَيِّ".
It is narrated from Imam Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him: He used to say that there is no menstruation in the hand of a menstruating woman, and he used to say that a menstruating woman is the beloved of the living.
Hadith 1100
أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ
حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُصَافَحَةِ الْيَهُودِيِّ، وَالنَّصْرَانِيِّ، وَالْمَجُوسِيِّ، وَالْحَائِضِ
"فَلَمْ يَرَ فِيهِ وُضُوءًا".
Hammad said: I asked Imam Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, may Allah have mercy on him, about shaking hands with a Jew, a Christian, a Magian, and a menstruating woman, and he did not indicate that ablution was required.
Hadith 1101
Abdullah al-Bahi said: Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in the mosque. He said to a girl: "Give me the prayer mat." She said—when he wanted to spread it out and pray on it—Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she (the girl) was menstruating. He said: "Her menstruation is not in her hand."
Hadith 1102
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would extend his blessed head towards me from the mosque while in the state of i'tikaf, and I would wash it.
Hadith 1103
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ: "لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ تُوَضِّئَ الْحَائِضُ الْمَرِيضَ".
Imam Ibrahim al-Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) did not see any harm in a menstruating woman helping a sick person perform ablution.
Hadith 1104
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I would be in the state of menstruation and I would wash the blessed head of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 1105
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would be in i'tikaf and I would be in the state of menstruation, (yet) I would wash his blessed head.
Hadith 1106
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُغِيرَةَ، قَالَ: أَرْسَلَ أَبُو ظَبْيَانَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ الْحَائِضِ تُوَضِّئُ الْمَرِيضَ ؟، قَالَ: "نَعَمْ، وَتُسْنِدُهُ"، قَالَ: لَا، فَقُلْتُ لِلْمُغِيرَةِ: سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ؟، قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ: وَتُسْنِدُهُ يَعْنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ.
Shu’bah narrated that I heard Mughira say that Abu Dhubyan sent a messenger to Imam Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) to ask about a menstruating woman: can she help a sick person perform ablution? Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) replied: Yes. He asked: Can she support him during prayer? He replied: No. Shu’bah said: I asked Mughira: Did you hear this directly from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him)? He said: No. Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: «وتسنده» : That is, can she support him during prayer? (To which he replied that not during prayer).
Hadith 1107
It is narrated from Qasim that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give me the prayer mat." She replied: "I am menstruating." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "That (i.e., menstruation) is not in your hand."
Hadith 1108
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ شِنْظِيرٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ"أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ امْرَأَةٍ حَائِضٍ شَرِبَتْ مِنْ مَاءٍ، أَيُتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ ؟ فَضَحِكَ، وَقَالَ: نَعَمْ".
Imam Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Can one perform ablution with the leftover water from which a menstruating woman drank? He laughed and said: Yes.
Hadith 1109
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about eating food with a menstruating woman, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Eat with her.
Hadith 1110
It is narrated from Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would tell his slave girl to hand him the prayer mat from the mosque. She would say: “I am menstruating.” He would reply: “Your menstruation is not in your hand.” So she would hand him the prayer mat.
Hadith 1111
It is narrated from Haram bin Hakeem that his uncle (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’d, may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about eating with a menstruating woman, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any of my wives is menstruating, by Allah’s will, we will all have dinner together."
Hadith 1112
It is narrated from Qasim that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) did not consider there to be any harm in a menstruating woman touching the prayer mat.
