Hadith 1068
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: مَا يَحِلُّ لِي مِنْ امْرَأَتِي وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ؟، قَالَ: "لِتَشُدَّ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارَهَا ثُمَّ شَأْنَكَ بِأَعْلَاهَا".
It is narrated from Zaid bin Aslam: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), "What is permissible for me with my wife during her menstruation?" He replied: "She should tie her lower garment tightly, then you may have intercourse with her from above the garment."
Hadith 1069
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ: أَرْسَلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا لِيَسْأَلَهَا: هَلْ يُبَاشِرُ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ؟، فَقَالَتْ: "لِتَشُدَّ إِزَارَهَا عَلَى أَسْفَلِهَا ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُهَا".
It is narrated from Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) that Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Umar sent a messenger to Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask her whether a man can have intercourse with his wife while she is menstruating. She replied: She (the menstruating woman) should tie her lower garment tightly below, then the husband may have intercourse with her.
Hadith 1070
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: "الْحَائِضُ يَأْتِيهَا زَوْجُهَا فِي مَرَاقِّهَا وَبَيْنَ فَخِذَيْهَا، فَإِذَا دَفَقَ، غَسَلَتْ مَا أَصَابَهَا، وَاغْتَسَلَ هُوَ".
Imam Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A menstruating woman’s husband may have intercourse with her in a soft place and between the thighs; if semen is discharged, she should wash that area and the man should perform ghusl (ritual bath).
Hadith 1071
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ الْحَائِضِ، فَقَالَ: قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: "لَقَدْ عَلِمَتْ أُمُّ عِمْرَانَ أَنِّي أَطْعُنُ فِي أَلْيَتِهَا، يَعْنِي: وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ".
Imam Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Umm Imran knows that I nudge her on the buttocks while she is menstruating.
Hadith 1072
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ عَطَاءً عَنْ الْحَائِضِ "فَلَمْ يَرَ بِمَا دُونَ الدَّمِ بَأْسًا".
Malik bin Mughul said: A man asked Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) about seeking pleasure from a menstruating woman, so he said there is no harm except in the place of blood.
Hadith 1073
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: "كُنْتُ إِذَا حِضْتُ أَمَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَّزِرُ، وَكَانَ يُبَاشِرُنِي".
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When I would menstruate, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would order me, so I would tie my lower garment tightly, then he would be intimate with me.
Hadith 1074
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي مَيْمُونُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ، قَالَ: سُئِلَتْ عَائِشَةُ مَا يَحِلُّ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ امْرَأَتِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ؟، قَالَتْ: "مَا فَوْقَ الْإِزَارِ".
Maimun bin Mehran narrated that it was asked from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): What is permissible for a man from his wife during her menstruation? She replied: Whatever is above the waist-wrapper (izar). That is, he may only enjoy from above the izar.
Hadith 1075
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَوْشَنٍ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الْأَصْفَرِ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: مَا يَحِلُّ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ امْرَأَتِهِ إِذَا كَانَتْ حَائِضًا ؟، قَالَتْ: "كُلُّ شَيْءٍ غَيْرُ الْجِمَاعِ"، قَالَ: قَلْتُ: فَمَا يَحْرُمُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا إِذَا كَانَا مُحْرِمَيْنِ ؟، قَالَتْ: "كُلُّ شَيْءٍ غَيْرُ كَلَامِهَا".
Masruq asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) what is permissible for a husband when a woman is in the state of menstruation? She replied: Everything is permissible except intercourse. He asked: And when both are in the state of Ihram, what is forbidden? She replied: Everything is forbidden except speech and conversation.
Hadith 1076
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَلْدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: "لِإِنْسَانٍ اجْتَنِبْ شِعَارَ الدَّمِ".
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to a man: Avoid the place of blood.
Hadith 1077
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: "إِذَا كَفَّ الْأَذَى يَعْنِي: الدَّمَ".
Aamir Sha’bi said: When the impurity stops... Another narration is: When the blood stops, then do as you wish.
Hadith 1078
أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: "لَا بَأْسَ أَنْ تُؤْتَى الْحَائِضُ بَيْنَ فَخِذَيْهَا وَفِي سُرَّتِهَا".
Mujahid said: There is no harm in playing with the thighs and navel (navel, lower abdomen) of a menstruating woman.
Hadith 1079
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: "تُقْبِلُ وَتُدْبِرُ، إِلَّا الدُّبُرَ وَالْمَحِيضَ".
Mujahid said: Come from anywhere you wish except the anus and the place of menstruation.
Hadith 1080
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي لِحَافٍ، فَوَجَدْتُ مَا تَجِدُ النِّسَاءُ، فَقُمْتُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَا لَكِ، أَنَفِسْتِ ؟"، قُلْتُ: وَجَدْتُ مَا تَجِدُ النِّسَاءُ، قَالَ: "ذَاكَ مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَى بَنَاتِ آدَمَ"، قَالَتْ: فَقُمْتُ فَأَصْلَحْتُ مِنْ شَأْنِي، ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "ادْخُلِي فِي اللِّحَافِ"، فَدَخَلْتُ.
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) under one blanket when I got my period. I stood up, and he (peace be upon him) said: “What happened?” I replied: The same thing has happened to me that happens to women. He said: “This is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam.” Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) said: So I got up and put myself in order, then I returned (to his pure company), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Come into the blanket.” So I entered.
Hadith 1081
أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتَوَائِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: بَيْنَا أَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُضْطَجِعَةٌ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ إِذْ حِضْتُ، فَانْسَلَلْتُ، فَأَخَذْتُ ثِيَابَ حِيضَتِي، فَقَالَ: "أَنَفِسْتِ ؟"، قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَتْ: "فَدَعَانِي فَاضْطَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ"، قَالَتْ: وَكَانَتْ هِيَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ"يَغْتَسِلَانِ مِنْ الْإِنَاءِ الْوَاحِدِ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ، وَكَانَ يُقَبِّلُهَا وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ".
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) under a single sheet when I began menstruating, so I gathered my clothes and quietly slipped away. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have you started menstruating?" I replied: Yes. Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that he called me, and I lay down with him under the same sheet. She also said that she and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl for janabah together from a single vessel, and he would kiss her while he was fasting.
Hadith 1082
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يُبَاشِرُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ فَوْقَ الْإِزَارِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ".
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would have intercourse with any of his wives in the state of menstruation over the izar (lower garment).
Hadith 1083
أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي مَيْسَرَةَ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يَأْمُرُ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا كَانَتْ حَائِضًا أَنْ تَشُدَّ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارَهَا، ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُهَا".
Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When any one of us would menstruate, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would command her to tie a waist-wrapper, and then he would have intimacy with her.
Hadith 1084
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَتْ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: "كُنْتُ أَتَّزِرُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، ثُمَّ أَدْخُلُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي لِحَافِهِ".
It is narrated from Abu Maysarah that Umm al-Mu'minin, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I would tie a waist-wrapper while in the state of menstruation, then I would enter the blanket with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 1085
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ ابْنُ جُبَيْرٍ: مَا لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ امْرَأَتِهِ إِذَا كَانَتْ حَائِضًا ؟، قَالَ: "مَا فَوْقَ الْإِزَارِ".
It is narrated from Yazid bin Abi Ziyad: Ibn Jubair was asked: What is permissible for a man when a woman is in the state of menstruation? He replied: Whatever is above the waist-wrapper (izar) is permissible.
Hadith 1086
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ فِي الْحَائِضِ، قَالَ: "الْفِرَاشُ وَاحِدٌ، وَاللُّحُفُ شَتَّى، فَإِنْ كَانُوا لَا يَجِدُونَ، رَدَّ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ لِحَافِهِ".
It is narrated from ‘Ubaidah (as-Salmani) regarding a menstruating woman that the bed may be the same but the blanket should be separate; if there is no blanket, then the man should put his own blanket over her.
Hadith 1087
أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحٍ، قَالَ لَهُ: "مَا فَوْقَ السَّرَرِ أَوْ السُّرَّةِ".
Shurayh (al-Qadi) said: For a man, it is the part above the navel.
Hadith 1088
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ بَابَنُوسَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يَتَوَشَّحُنِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، وَيُصِيبُ مِنْ رَأْسِي وَبَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ ثَوْبٌ".
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to embrace me while I was in the state of menstruation, and he would touch my head, but there would be a cloth barrier between us.
Hadith 1089
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ كَانُوا إِذَا حَاضَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ فِيهِمْ لَمْ يُؤَاكِلُوهَا، وَلَمْ يُشَارِبُوهَا، وَأَخْرَجُوهَا مِنْ الْبَيْتِ، وَلَمْ تَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ فِي الْبُيُوتِ، فَسُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى سورة البقرة آية 222، فَأَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "أَنْ يُؤَاكِلُوهُنَّ، وَأَنْ يُشَارِبُوهُنَّ، وَأَنْ يَكُنَّ مَعَهُمْ فِي الْبُيُوتِ، وَأَنْ يَفْعَلُوا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا النِّكَاحَ"، فَقَالَتْ الْيَهُودُ: مَا يُرِيدُ هَذَا أَنْ يَدَعَ شَيْئًا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا إِلَّا خَالَفَنَا فِيهِ، فَجَاءَ عَبَّادُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، وَأُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَاهُ بِذَلِكَ، وَقَالَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَفَلَا نَنْكِحُهُنَّ فِي الْمَحِيضِ ؟"فَتَمَعَّرَ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَمَعُّرًا شَدِيدًا حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِمَا، فَقَامَا، فَخَرَجَا"، هَدِيَّةُ لَبَنٍ"فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي آثَارِهِمَا فَرَدَّهُمَا فَسَقَاهُمَا"، فَعَلِمْنَا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَغْضَبْ عَلَيْهِمَا.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that among the Jews, when a woman would menstruate, they would neither eat nor drink with her, and would send her out of the room; she could not even stay in the house with the people. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this, Allah Almighty revealed this verse: «وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى» [2-البقرة:222] "They ask you about menstruation. Say: It is a harm (impurity)." Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded (the Muslims) to eat and drink with them, to stay in the house with them, and to do everything with them except intercourse. (When the Jews heard of this) they said: This man (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) wants to oppose us in everything. (Upon hearing this) Sayyiduna ‘Abbad bin Bishr and Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: The Jews say such and such, so should we not have intercourse with menstruating women? (Upon hearing this) the color of the Messenger of Allah’s (peace and blessings be upon him) face changed intensely; we thought he was angry with them. We both got up and left. Meanwhile, a gift of milk arrived, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for them (when they returned) and gave them milk to drink. Thus, we realized that he was not angry with them.
Hadith 1090
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، حَدَّثَنِي شَيْبَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يُضَاجِعُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فِي لِحَافٍ وَاحِدٍ، فَقَالَ: "أَمَّا نَحْنُ آلَ عُمَرَ فَنَهْجُرُهُنَّ إِذَا كُنَّ حُيَّضًا".
Shaibah bin Hisham Rasabi said: I asked Salim bin Abdullah about a man who lies with his wife in a blanket while she is menstruating? (He said) We, the family of Umar, leave women alone during menstruation (i.e., we do not lie close to them).
Hadith 1091
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: "لَا بَأْسَ بِفَضْلِ وَضُوءِ الْمَرْأَةِ مَا لَمْ تَكُنْ جُنُبًا أَوْ حَائِضًا".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: There is no harm in using the leftover water of a woman as long as she is neither in a state of major ritual impurity nor menstruating.
Hadith 1092
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ: "تَضَعُهُ وَضْعًا يَعْنِي عَلَى الْفَرْجِ".
Hakam bin Utbah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: In such a case, she will place (a cloth) over her private part.
Hadith 1093
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ نُدْبَةَ مَوْلَاةِ مَيْمُونَةَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ "يُبَاشِرُ الْمَرْأَةَ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ إِذَا كَانَ عَلَيْهَا إِزَارٌ، يَبْلُغُ أَنْصَافَ الْفَخِذَيْنِ أَوْ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ مُحْتَجِزَةً بِهِ".
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would have intimacy with any of his wives during menstruation from above the waist-wrapper, which would be tied up to half of the thigh or the knee.
