Hadith 881
It is narrated from Umrah that Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to prevent women from considering the blood seen at night as menstrual blood, and she used to say: It is possible that it is yellowish or muddy water.
Hadith 882
Umrah’s slave girl Rabt said that Umrah used to forbid women from performing ghusl until a white cotton (discharge) appeared.
Hadith 883
Sufyan Thawri said: Muddy (cloudy water) and yellowish discharge during the days of menstruation will be considered as menstruation, and after the days of menstruation, any muddy blood or yellowish discharge will be considered as istihada (irregular bleeding). Imam Darimi, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Do you accept Sufyan's statement? He replied: Yes.
Hadith 884
Fatimah bint Muhammad (who was raised by 'Amrah) said that a woman from the Quraysh sent a piece of cotton to 'Amrah, on which there was something yellowish, and asked: If a woman sees only such yellowness during her menstruation, is she considered pure? 'Amrah replied: No, not until the cotton comes out completely white (i.e., the woman is not pure yet).
Hadith 885
Fatimah bint al-Mundhir said: We were under the care (and upbringing) of Lady Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), and when any of us would menstruate, then become pure, she would perform ghusl and pray. Then if a little yellowish discharge appeared, Lady Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) would order us to refrain from prayer until complete whiteness appeared.
Hadith 886
Ata said: During the days of menstruation, yellowish and muddy (brownish) discharge will be counted as menstruation. That is, if yellow or earthy muddy discharge comes during the days of menstruation, it is considered menstruation, therefore the woman will leave the prayer.
Hadith 887
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the blood comes, she should not pray until she sees the white discharge; after that, she should perform ghusl and then pray.
Hadith 888
Asim al-Ahwal said: Imam Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, did not consider yellowish or brownish discharge and something like the washing of meat to be anything. That is, he did not regard them as menstruation.
Hadith 889
Sayyidah Umm ‘Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We did not consider yellowish or muddy (discharge) to be of any significance. That is, we did not give it any importance.
