Hadith 840
It is narrated from Ikrimah that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) did not consider it objectionable for a husband to have intercourse with his wife who was experiencing istihada (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding).
Hadith 841
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ الْأَفْطَسِ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ: أَتُجَامَعُ الْمُسْتَحَاضَةُ ؟، فَقَالَ: "الصَّلَاةُ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ الْجِمَاعِ".
Salim Al-Aftas said: Sa'id bin Jubair, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Can intercourse be had with a woman experiencing Istihada (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding)? He replied: Prayer is a greater matter than intercourse.
Hadith 842
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: "يَأْتِيهَا زَوْجُهَا".
It is narrated from Sumi that Saeed bin Al-Musayyib, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Her husband can have intercourse with her.
Hadith 843
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ، قَالَ: "يَغْشَاهَا زَوْجُهَا".
It is narrated from Yunus that Imam Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the woman with istihada: Her husband may have intercourse with her.
Hadith 844
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ: "يَغْشَاهَا زَوْجُهَا وَإِنْ قَطَرَ الدَّمُ عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ".
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Muslima that Sa'id bin Jubayr, may Allah have mercy on him, said regarding the mustahadah (a woman with non-menstrual bleeding): Her husband may have intercourse with her, even if the blood comes onto the mat.
Hadith 845
أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِبَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ، يَقُولُ: "إِنَّ الْمُسْتَحَاضَةَ لَا يَغْشَاهَا زَوْجُهَا"، قَالَ بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ: "الصَّلَاةُ أَعْظَمُ حُرْمَةً يَغْشَاهَا زَوْجُهَا".
It is narrated from Humaid that it was said to Bakr bin Abdullah that Hajjaj bin Yusuf says that a man cannot have intercourse with a woman experiencing istihada (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding). Bakr bin Abdullah Al-Muzani said: Prayer is more sacred than this, (yet) the husband can have intercourse.
Hadith 846
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: "يَأْتِيهَا زَوْجُهَا".
It is narrated from Humaid that Imam Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, said: The husband can have intercourse.
Hadith 847
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ: "يُجَامِعُهَا زَوْجُهَا، تَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ أَيَّامَ حَيْضِهَا، فَإِذَا حَلَّتْ لَهَا الصَّلَاةُ، فَلْيَطَأْهَا".
Ata said regarding the mustahadah (a woman with non-menstrual vaginal bleeding): Her husband may have intercourse with her. She will refrain from prayer during her menstrual days; when prayer becomes permissible for her, intercourse will also become permissible.
Hadith 848
It is narrated from Imam Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him), that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The husband of a woman experiencing istihada (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding) may have intercourse with her.
Hadith 849
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَالْحَسَنِ، وَعَطَاءٍ، قَالُوا فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ: "تَغْتَسِلُ وَتُصَلِّي، وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ، وَيَغْشَاهَا زَوْجُهَا".
It is narrated from Qatadah: Sa'id bin al-Musayyib, Hasan, and Ata said regarding the mustahadah (a woman with non-menstrual bleeding): She will perform ghusl and pray, she will fast in Ramadan, and her husband may have intercourse with her.
