Hadith 781
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Water is (only) from water."
Hadith 782
أَخْبَرَنَا
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي
اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي
عُقَيْلٌ، عَنْ
ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ
سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، وَكَانَ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَمِعَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً حِينَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي
أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهً، أَنَّ الْفُتْيَا الَّتِي كَانُوا يُفْتَوْنَ بِهَا فِي قَوْلِهِ:
"الْمَاءُ مِنْ الْمَاءِ"، رُخْصَةٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ"رَخَّصَ فِيهَا فِي أَوَّلِ الْإِسْلَامِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِالِاغْتِسَالِ بَعْدُ"، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ: وقَالَ غَيْرُهُ: قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ: حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ مَنْ أَرْضَى عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ.
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him), who saw and heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and at the time of the Prophet’s passing Sahl was 15 years old, narrated that Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) told me that the verdict “water (semen) for water (obligatory bath)” which people used to give, was a concession that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted in the early days of Islam, but later he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered to perform ghusl (ritual bath). Imam Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Another narrator said: Imam Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The one whom I prefer narrated this hadith to me from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 783
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) related to me that the ruling people give regarding «الماء من الماء» was a concession which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted in the early days of Islam, then afterwards he performed ghusl (full ritual bath).
