Ata bin Abi Rabah said that he heard Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrate that a man was wounded during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), then he had a wet dream. He was ordered to perform ghusl (ritual bath), and he died. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was informed of this, he said: "They have killed him, may Allah deal with them. Is not the cure for ignorance to ask?" Ata bin Abi Rabah said: I have heard that after this, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked, and he said: "He (the wounded man) should have washed his body and left his head where the wound was."
