Sunan ad-Darimi
من كتاب الطهارةFrom the Book of Purification
باب كَانَ النَّبَيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْخُذُ لِرَأْسِهِ مَاءً جَدِيداً:
Chapter: The Prophet Used Fresh Water for His Head
Hadith 732
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ وَاسِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْجُحْفَةِ، فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ، وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَنْقَاهُمَا، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ بِمَاءٍ غَيْرِ فَضْلِ يَدَيْهِ"، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد: يُرِيدُ بِهِ تَفْسِيرَ مَسْحِ الْأَوَّلِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd bin Asim Mazani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution, so he rinsed his mouth, put water into his nose, then washed his face three times, then washed both his hands (up to the elbows) three times, then wiped his head, and washed his feet until he made them clean, and he wiped his head with fresh water instead of the water remaining on his hand. Abu Muhammad said: By the last sentence, the explanation of the first wiping is intended.
