It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Shall I not tell you of something by which Allah erases sins and increases good deeds?" The people said, "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing ablution properly in times of difficulty (such as cold, etc.), taking many steps towards the mosques, and waiting for one prayer after another prayer."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We have been commanded to perform ablution thoroughly." In the narration of Ibn Majah, it is stated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to perfect the ablution.
