باب كَمْ يَكْفِي في الْوُضُوءِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ:
Chapter: How Much Water Suffices for Ablution
Hadith 710
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مِفْتَاحُ الصَّلَاةِ الطُّهُورُ، وَتَحْرِيمُهَا التَّكْبِيرُ، وَتَحْلِيلُهَا التَّسْلِيمُ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The key to prayer is purification, its opening is the takbeer, and its closing is the salam."
Hadith 711
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَيْحَانَةَ، عَنْ سَفِينَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ".
Sayyiduna Safinah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform ablution with one mudd and take a bath with one sa’ of water.
Hadith 712
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، يَقُولُ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمَكُّوكِ، وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِي".
Abdullah bin Abdullah said: I heard Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform ablution with one makuk and would perform ghusl with five makuk.
