Hadith 687
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "You are my envoy and messenger to the people of Makkah, so say to them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sends you greetings of peace and commands you that when you go out (to relieve yourselves), do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your back to it."
Hadith 688
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you go to the toilet, do not face the Qiblah or turn your back towards it while defecating or urinating." The narrator said: Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then we came to the land of Syria and saw that the toilets were built facing the Qiblah, so we would turn our faces away from them and seek forgiveness from Allah. Imam Abu Muhammad al-Darimi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This narration is more authentic than the first narration from Abdul Karim, and Abdul Karim is considered close to being abandoned.
