Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When we were forbidden from initiating conversation with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to like that some intelligent and understanding Bedouin would come and ask the Prophet (peace be upon him) questions while we were sitting with him. Coincidentally, once we were sitting when a Bedouin came and sat down on his knees before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: O Muhammad! Your messenger came to us and told us that you say that Allah has sent you as a Messenger? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: By the One Who raised the sky, spread out the earth, and set up the mountains, has Allah sent you as a Messenger? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Yes.” He said: Your envoy told us that you say that five prayers have been made obligatory upon us in the day and night? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: By the One Who sent you as a Messenger, has Allah commanded you to do this? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Yes.” The Bedouin said: Your caller told us that you say fasting for one month in the year is obligatory upon us? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Yes.” Then he said: I ask you by the One Who sent you as a Messenger, has Allah commanded you to do this? He said: “Yes.” The Bedouin said: Your envoy told us that you have made zakat obligatory on our wealth. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Absolutely true.” He said: I ask you by the One Who sent you as a Messenger, has Allah commanded you to do this? He said: “Yes.” The Bedouin said: Your envoy told us that you said Hajj to the House of Allah is obligatory upon whoever is able to do so? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “He spoke the truth.” He said: By the One Who sent you as a Messenger, has Allah commanded you to do this? He said: “Yes.” The Bedouin said: By the One Who sent you with the truth, I will neither leave any of these things nor exceed them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If this Bedouin has spoken the truth (and acts upon it), he will enter Paradise.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Bedouin came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O son of Banu Abdul Muttalib! "As-salamu alaik." The Prophet replied: "Wa alaik." The Bedouin said: I am from your maternal uncles, Banu Sa'd bin Bakr, and I have come to you as a representative of my people. I want to ask you something, and I will ask a bit harshly, and I will speak to you in a stern tone. (And in another narration: Please do not mind.) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O brother of Banu Sa'd! Speak however you wish." Then he said: Who created you? Who created those who were before you? And who will be the creator after you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Allah." He said: I swear by that same Allah, did He send you as a Messenger? He replied: "Yes." He asked: Who created the seven heavens and the seven earths and who provided sustenance between them? He replied: "Allah did." He said: Did that same Allah send you as a Messenger? He replied: "Yes." He said: We have seen in your writings and your messengers have commanded us that we should pray five times in the day and night. I ask you by oath, did He command you this? He replied: "Yes." He said: We have read in your writings and your callers have commanded us that we should give a portion of our wealth to the poor. I ask you by oath, did He command this as well? He replied: "Yes." Then that Bedouin said: The fifth thing I will not ask you, nor do I need to. Then he said: By the One who sent you with the truth, I and whoever among my people obeys me will surely act upon this. Then the Bedouin went back. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed so much that his molar teeth became visible. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if he has spoken the truth (and acts upon it), he will surely enter Paradise."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The tribe of Banu Sa’d bin Bakr sent Sayyiduna Dhamam bin Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he came and made his camel sit at the door of the mosque, then tied it, then entered the mosque. At that time, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting with his companions, and Dhamam was a strong man, with long hair and two braids. He stood before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Which one of you is the son of Abdul Muttalib? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I am the son of Abdul Muttalib.” He said: Muhammad? He replied: “Yes.” He said: O son of Abdul Muttalib! I am going to ask you about religious matters, and I will ask strictly, so do not be angry with me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I will not be angry, ask whatever you wish.” He said: I ask you by Allah, Who is the God of you and those before you and those after you, did Allah send you to us as a Messenger? He replied: “Yes, indeed.” He said: I ask you by Allah, Who is your God and the God of those before you and those after you, did Allah command you to make us perform these five daily prayers? He replied: “«اللهم نعم» Yes.” The narrator said: Then in the same way, he mentioned the obligatory acts of Islam, fasting, Hajj, and other symbols of Islam one by one, and for each obligation, he made him swear as he did the first time. Then when he had asked everything, he said: “«اشهد ان ...» I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that indeed Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger, and I will fulfill this obligation, and I will abstain from whatever you have commanded to avoid.” Then he said that he would neither add to it nor decrease from it. Then he returned to his camel, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If the man with two braids has spoken the truth, he will enter Paradise.” Then he reached his camel, untied its rope, and returned to his people. The people gathered around him, and the first thing he said was: “Destruction be upon Lat and Uzza!” They said: Wait, O Dhamam, fear leprosy, madness, and disease. He replied: “Woe to you! By Allah, indeed these two can neither benefit nor harm. Indeed, Allah has sent a Messenger, and He has revealed a Book upon him, through which He wants to bring you out from this (filth), and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and I have brought to you from him what he has commanded you, and what he has forbidden you from.” The narrator said: By Allah, by the evening of that day, there was not a single man or woman who had not become Muslim. The narrator said: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: We have not heard of any envoy or delegate of any people better than Dhamam bin Tha’labah.
