Hadith 654
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، قَالَ: "عَرَضْتُ عَلَى الشَّعْبِيِّ أَحَادِيثَ الْفِقْهِ، فَأَجَازَهَا لِي".
Asim al-Ahwal narrated that I presented the Ahadith of rulings to Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him), and he granted me permission to narrate them.
Hadith 655
Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah narrated that I asked ‘Amr bin Dinar: Did you hear this hadith from Sayyiduna Jabir bin ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man who was passing through the mosque carrying arrows: “Hold them by their tips”? ‘Amr bin Dinar said: Yes, I heard him say this.
Hadith 656
Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah narrated: I said to ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Qasim, “Did you hear your father narrate from Lady ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to kiss her while he was fasting?” He said: “Yes, I heard him say this.”
Hadith 657
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْكِينُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ
مَنْصُورٌ بِحَدِيثٍ فَلَقِيتُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: أُحَدِّثُ بِهِ عَنْكَ؟، قَالَ:
"أَوَ لَيْسَ إِذَا كَتَبْتُ إِلَيْكَ فَقَدْ حَدَّثْتُكَ؟" . .
Shu’bah narrated that Mansur sent me a hadith in writing. When I met him, I asked: Can I narrate this hadith from you with your authority? He replied: When I write something to you, it is equivalent to narrating and transmitting it (i.e., it is as if I have narrated it to you face to face).
Hadith 658
قَالَ: وَسَأَلْتُ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيَّ، فَقَالَ: مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ..
Shu’bah (bin al-Hajjaj) said: I asked Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani, and he also gave the same answer.
Hadith 659
It is narrated from Mu'ammar that he presented a book to (Imam) Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, and said: Can I narrate it from you? He replied: Has anyone other than me narrated it to you for your sake?
Hadith 660
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ مَوْلَى الْمُزَنِيِّينَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: "عَرْضُ الْكِتَابِ وَالْحَدِيثُ سَوَاءٌ".
It is narrated from Hisham bin Urwah that his father (Urwah) said: Presenting the book and the hadith to the teacher is the same.
Hadith 661
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: "عَرْضُ الْكِتَابِ وَالْحَدِيثُ سَوَاءٌ".
It is narrated from Ja'far bin Muhammad, his father said: Presenting a book or a hadith is the same thing.
Hadith 662
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: "كَانَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ يَرَى عَرْضَ الْكِتَابِ وَالْحَدِيثَ سَوَاءً، وَكَانَ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ يَرَى ذَلِكَ".
Dawud bin Ata (mawla al-Muzaniyyin) said: Zayd bin Aslam considered presenting a book or a hadith to be the same, and Ibn Abi Dhi'b also held this opinion.
Hadith 663
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ"أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَرَى الْعَرْضَ وَالْحَدِيثَ سَوَاءً".
Mutarrif (bin Abdullah bin Mutarrif) said: Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, considered presenting a book and reciting a hadith to be equal.
