Hadith 610
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ، قَالَ: "إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَظُنُّوا بِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَأُ، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَهْدَى، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَتْقَى".
It is narrated from Awn bin Abdullah that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is narrated to you, then be certain that it is the most agreeable, the most guiding, and the most pious matter.
Hadith 611
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: "إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ شَيْئًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَظُنُّوا بِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْدَى، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَتْقَى، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَأُ".
It is narrated from Abu Abdur Rahman al-Sulami that Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: When the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is narrated to you, then be certain that it is the most guided, the most pious, and the most conforming.
Hadith 612
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كَانَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ". .
Whenever Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated a hadith of the Messenger, he would say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him take his place in the Hellfire.”
Hadith 613
فَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِذَا حَدَّثَ قَالَ: إِذَا سَمِعْتُمُونِي أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمْ تَجِدُوهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ، أَوْ حَسَنًا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ، فَاعْلَمُوا أَنِّي قَدْ كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ . .
Whenever Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated a hadith, he would say: When you hear me narrate a hadith of the Messenger, and you do not find it in the Book of Allah, nor do you find anything better with the people, then know that I have lied about the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Hadith 614
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: "إِنَّ أَزْهَدَ النَّاسِ فِي عَالِمٍ أَهْلُهُ".
It is narrated from Sulaiman al-Ahwal that Ikrimah (the freed slave of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The ones who are most heedless of a scholar are his own household.
