Hadith 605
Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma’dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: On the day of Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade certain things such as the donkey, etc. Then he said: “Soon a man will be reclining on his couch, narrating my hadith, and will say: ‘Between us and you is the Book of Allah; whatever we find in it to be lawful, we will consider lawful, and whatever we find in it to be unlawful, we will consider unlawful.’ Listen! Whatever the Messenger of Allah has declared unlawful is indeed unlawful, just as whatever Allah, the Exalted, has declared unlawful.”
Hadith 606
It is narrated from Imam Awza'i (may Allah have mercy on him), Yahya bin Abi Kathir said: The Sunnah is the explainer and decider of the Qur'an, and the Qur'an is not the explainer and decider of the Sunnah.
Hadith 607
It is narrated from Imam Awza'i, may Allah have mercy on him, that Hassan said: Jibreel (peace be upon him) used to bring the Sunnah to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the same way as he brought the Qur'an to him.
Hadith 608
It is narrated from Imam Awza'i, may Allah have mercy on him: Mak'hool, may Allah have mercy on him, said: The Sunnah is of two types; one is that holding onto it is obligatory and abandoning it is disbelief, and the other is the Sunnah that acting upon it is virtuous and there is no harm in leaving it.
Hadith 609
Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) one day, so a man said: "There is an opposing (ruling) to this in the Book of Allah." He replied: "I narrate to you the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and you compare it to the Book of Allah, even though the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) understood the Book of Allah better than you."
