باب اتِّقَاءِ الْحَدِيثِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالتَّثَبُّتِ فِيهِ:
Chapter: Caution in Narrating from the Prophet and Verifying Reports
Hadith 237
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him take his place in the Hellfire.”
Hadith 238
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his place in the Hellfire."
Hadith 239
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "مَنْ حَدَّثَ عَنِّي كَذِبًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever attributes a false hadith to me, let him prepare his abode in Hell."
Hadith 240
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي الصَّبَّاحُ بْنُ مُحَارِبٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
Umar bin Abdullah bin Ya'la bin Murrah narrated from his father, who narrated from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him take his place in Hell."
Hadith 241
أَخْبَرَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَتَّابٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، يَقُولُ: لَوْلَا أَنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ أُخْطِئَ لَحَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِأَشْيَاءَ سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ قَالَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَذَاكَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
Itab said, I heard Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) say: If I did not fear making a mistake, I would narrate such things which I have heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has stated. And this (i.e., refraining from narrating) is because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare his abode in the Hellfire."
Hadith 242
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَعَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، وَعَنْ التَّيْمِيِّ، وَعَنْ عَتَّابٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ هُرْمُزَ، سَمِعُوا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
It is narrated from ‘Itab, the freed slave of Ibn Hurmuz, that he heard Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare his abode in the Hellfire.”
Hadith 243
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ: "يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَكَثْرَةَ الْحَدِيثِ عَنِّي، فَمَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ، فَلَا يَقُلْ إِلَّا حَقًّا أَوْ إِلَّا صِدْقًا، وَمَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying on the pulpit: "O people! Refrain from narrating too many hadiths from me. If anyone must do so, then let him speak the truth. Whoever attributes to me something I did not say, let him make his abode in the Hellfire."
Hadith 244
أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him take his place in Hell.”
