Hadith 56
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muslima al-Sakuni (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man said: O Messenger of Allah! Has food been provided to you from the sky? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, food was brought to me." He said: O Prophet of Allah! Was any of it left over? He replied: "Yes, some was left." He asked: Then what happened to it? He said: "It was raised up to the sky, and it was revealed to me that I will stay among you for only a short time, and you will remain and will say, 'When? When?' (i.e., when will the Hour come?), then you will come to me in small groups, killing each other, and near the Hour there will be many deaths, and after that, years of earthquakes will come."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that a vessel filled with tharid was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and placed before the people, and from morning till noon people kept eating from it in turns; one group would stand up and another group would sit down. A man said to Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): Was anything else added to this vessel or bowl? Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Why are you surprised? And he pointed towards the sky and said: Food was coming into it from there.
