باب مَا أَكْرَمَ اللَّهُ بِهِ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِيمَانِ الشَّجَرِ بِهِ وَالْبَهَائِمِ وَالْجِنِّ:
Chapter: Miracles Granted to the Prophet—Faith of Trees, Animals, and Jinn
Hadith 16
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَقْبَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنْهُ، قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ ؟"، قَالَ: إِلَى أَهْلِي، قَالَ: "هَلْ لَكَ فِي خَيْرٍ ؟"، قَالَ: وَمَا هُوَ ؟، قَالَ: "تَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ"، فَقَالَ: وَمَنْ يَشْهَدُ عَلَى مَا تَقُولُ ؟، قَالَ: "هَذِهِ السَّلَمَةُ"، فَدَعَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ بِشَاطِئِ الْوَادِي فَأَقْبَلَتْ تَخُدُّ الْأَرْضَ خَدًّا حَتَّى قَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَاسْتَشْهَدَهَا ثَلَاثًا، فَشَهِدَتْ ثَلَاثًا أَنَّهُ كَمَا قَالَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ إِلَى مَنْبَتِهَا، وَرَجَعَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ، وَقَالَ: إِنْ اتَّبَعُونِي أَتَيْتُكَ بِهِمْ، وَإِلَّا رَجَعْتُ، فَكُنْتُ مَعَكَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey when a Bedouin came. When he approached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Where are you intending to go?" He replied: "I intend to go to my family." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you desire goodness?" He asked: "What is that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(It is) that you bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger and Prophet." He said: "Who will bear witness to what you say?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This thorny tree (bush) (will bear witness to it)." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called it, and although it was at the edge of the valley, it tore through the earth and came and stood before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked it to bear witness, and the tree bore witness three times that you are indeed as you have claimed. Then it returned to its place, and the Bedouin went back to his tribe saying that if they accepted what I say, I will bring them to you, otherwise I will return myself and stay with you.
Hadith 17
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، وَكَانَ لَا يَأْتِي الْبَرَازَ حَتَّى يَتَغَيَّبَ فَلَا يُرَى، فَنَزَلْنَا بِفَلَاةٍ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ لَيْسَ فِيهَا شَجَرةٌ، وَلَا عَلَمٌ، فَقَالَ: "يَا جَابِرُ، اجْعَلْ فِي إِدَاوَتِكَ مَاءً ثُمَّ انْطَلِقْ بِنَا"، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقْنَا حَتَّى لَا نُرَى، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِشَجَرَتَيْنِ بَيْنَهُمَا أَرْبَعُ أَذْرُعٍ، فَقَالَ: "يَا جَابِرُ، انْطَلِقْ إِلَى هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ، فَقُلْ: يُقُولُ لَكِ رَسولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: الْحَقِي بِصَاحِبَتِكِ حَتَّى أَجْلِسَ خَلْفَكُمَا"، فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَيْهَا، فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْفَهُمَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَتَا إِلَى مَكَانِهِمَا، فَرَكِبْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ بَيْنَنَا كَأَنَّمَا عَلَيْنَا الطَّيْرُ تُظِلُّنَا، فَعَرَضَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ مَعَهَا صَبِيٌّ لَهَا، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا يَأْخُذُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ، قَالَ: فَتَنَاوَلَ الصَّبِيَّ فَجَعَلَهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ مُقَدَّمِ الرَّحْلِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: "اخْسَأْ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ، أَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، اخْسَأْ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ أَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثًا"، ثُمَّ دَفَعَهُ إِلَيْهَا، فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا، مَرَرْنَا بِذَلِكَ الْمَكَانِ فَعَرَضَتْ لَنَا الْمَرْأَةُ مَعَهَا صَبِيُّهَا، وَمَعَهَا كَبْشَانِ تَسُوقُهُمَا، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اقْبَلْ مِنِّي هَدِيَّتِي، فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا عَادَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْدُ، فَقَالَ: "خُذُوا مِنْهَا وَاحِدًا وَرُدُّوا عَلَيْهَا الْآخَرَ"، قَالَ: ثُمَّ سِرْنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَنَا كَأَنَّمَا عَلَيْنَا الطَّيْرُ تُظِلُّنَا، فَإِذَا جَمَلٌ نَادٌّ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بَيْنَ سِمَاطَيْنِ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا، فَجَلَسَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَالَ عَلَيَّ النَّاسَ: "مَنْ صَاحِبُ الْجَمَلِ ؟"فَإِذَا فِتْيَةٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، قَالُوا: هُوَ لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: "فَمَا شَأْنُهُ"؟، قَالُوا: اسْتَنَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ مُنْذُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً وَكَانَتْ بِهِ شُحَيْمَةٌ فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَنْحَرَهُ فَنَقْسِمَهُ بَيْنَ غِلْمَانِنَا، فَانْفَلَتَ مِنَّا، قَالَ: "بِيعُونِيهِ"، قَالُوا: لَا، بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: "أَمَّا لا، فَأَحْسِنُوا إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ أَجَلُهُ"، قَالَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالسُّجُودِ لَكَ مِنْ الْبَهَائِمِ، قَالَ: "لَا يَنْبَغِي لِشَيْءٍ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ لِشَيْءٍ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ، كَانَ النِّسَاءُ لِأَزْوَاجِهِنَّ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I set out on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He would go so far away to relieve himself that he would not be visible. We camped in such a barren plain where there was neither a tree nor a mountain. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jabir! Fill water in your bucket and come with us." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We set out and became hidden from the people's sight and reached two trees whose distance between them was four arm-lengths. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Jabir, go to the tree and say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) says to you to join your companion tree so that I may sit behind you for privacy." He went and said so, and thus the tree joined the other, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went behind them (to relieve himself) and sat down. Then the trees returned to their places. After that, we mounted with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was sitting among us. It seemed as if birds were shading us. Then a woman came to him, and with her was her child. She said: O Messenger of Allah! The devil takes away my child three times a day. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the child and seated him between himself and the saddle and said: "O enemy of Allah, go away, I am the Messenger of Allah. Go away, O enemy of Allah, I am the Messenger of Allah." He said this three times, then returned the child to his mother. Then, when we returned from our journey and passed by the same place, that same woman came before us, driving two rams with her child, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Please accept this gift from me. By the One Who sent you with the truth, since then the devil has not come again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take one ram and return the other to her." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: After that, we set out, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was among us, and it seemed as if birds were shading us. Suddenly, we saw a frightened camel. When it came between the two sides of the road, it fell down in prostration. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat down and said: "Call the people, whose camel is this?" Some young men from the Ansar said: O Messenger of Allah! This is our camel. He said: "What is its matter?" They said: We have been drawing water from it for twenty years. There is a piece of fat in its body, so we intended to slaughter it and distribute it among our slaves, but it became agitated and ran away from us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sell it to me." They said: No, O Messenger of Allah, you may take it as you wish. He said: "If you do not sell it, then treat it well until its death comes." At that time, the Muslims said: O Messenger of Allah, we are more deserving to prostrate to you than these animals. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for anyone to prostrate to another (human). If it were permissible, then women would have been allowed to prostrate to their husbands."
Hadith 18
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَجْلَحُ، عَنْ الذَّيَّالِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى دُفِعْنَا إِلَى حَائِطٍ فِي بَنِي النَّجَّارِ، فَإِذَا فِيهِ جَمَلٌ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْحَائِطَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا شَدَّ عَلَيْهِ، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَاهُ، فَدَعَاهُ فَجَاءَ وَاضِعًا مِشْفَرَهُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى بَرَكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: "هَاتُوا خِطَامًا"، فَخَطَمَهُ وَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى صَاحِبِهِ، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ، فَقَالَ: "مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، إِلَّا عَاصِيَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we went with the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to the garden of Banu Najjar. Suddenly, there was a camel in it that would attack every person who entered the garden. The people mentioned this to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). He went to it and called it, so it came with its lip hanging down and sat in front of him. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring a bridle." So he put a bridle on it and handed it over to its owner. Then, turning to the people, he said: "There is no one in the heavens and the earth, except the disobedient among jinn and humans, who does not know that I am the Messenger of Allah."
Hadith 19
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ فَرْقَدٍ السَّبَخِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، إِنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ بِابْنٍ لَهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ ابْنِي بِهِ جُنُونٌ، وَإِنَّهُ يَأْخُذُهُ عِنْدَ غَدَائِنَا وَعَشَائِنَا فَيُخَبَّثُ عَلَيْنَا،"فَمَسَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَدْرَهُ، وَدَعَا فَثَعَّ ثَعَّةً، وَخَرَجَ مِنْ جَوْفِهِ مِثْلُ الْجِرْوِ الْأَسْوَدِ، فَسَعَى".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with her son and said: My son suffers from madness due to which he takes our lunch and dinner and spoils and ruins it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stroked the boy’s chest and prayed, so he vomited and a small (thin) child came out of his stomach and ran away. In another narration, it is mentioned that the boy was cured.
Hadith 20
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُ حَجَرًا بِمَكَّةَ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُبْعَثَ إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُهُ الْآنَ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I know that stone in Makkah which used to greet me before Prophethood; I still recognize that stone."
Hadith 21
حَدَّثَنَا فَرْوَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ عَبَّادٍ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: "كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ فِي بَعْضِ نَوَاحِيهَا، فَمَرَرْنَا بَيْنَ الْجِبَالِ وَالشَّجَرِ، فَلَمْ نَمُرَّ بِشَجَرَةٍ وَلَا جَبَلٍ إِلَّا قَالَ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that we went out with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to some outskirts of Makkah, and whichever mountain or tree came before us, it said: O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you.
Hadith 22
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شِمْرِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ، أَوْ جُهَيْنَةَ، قَالَ: صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفَجْرَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِقَرِيبٍ مِنْ مِئَةِ ذِئْبٍ قَدْ أَقْعَيْنَ وُفُودُ الذِّئَابِ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "تَرْضَخُونَ لَهُمْ شَيْئًا مِنْ طَعَامِكُمْ وَتَأْمَنُونَ عَلَى مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ ؟"، فَشَكَوْا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَاجَةَ، قَالَ: "فَآذِنُوهُنَّ"، قَالَ: فَآذَنُوهُنَّ فَخَرَجْنَ وَلَهُنَّ عُوَاءٌ.
It is narrated from Shamir bin Atiyyah that a man from Muzaynah or Juhaynah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Fajr prayer, when suddenly about a hundred wolves appeared and sat down in their usual manner. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to the companions): "Give them some of your food so that you may be safe and secure from their harm." These wolves complained of hunger to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: "Inform them of your own hardship." The people did so, and then all the wolves went back making sounds.
Hadith 23
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ حَزِينٌ، وَقَدْ تَخَضَّبَ بِالدَّمِ مِنْ فِعْلِ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، هَلْ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُرِيَكَ آيَةً ؟، قَالَ: "نَعَمْ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَى شَجَرَةٍ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ"، فَقَالَ: ادْعُ بِهَا، فَدَعَا بِهَا، فَجَاءَتْ وَقَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْجِعْ، فَأَمَرَهَا فَرَجَعَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "حَسْبِي حَسْبِي".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him, came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was being persecuted by the people of Makkah, the Quraysh, covered in blood, sitting sad and grieved. Jibreel, peace be upon him, said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you wish that I show you a sign (of Allah’s power)? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Yes, show me.” So Jibreel, peace be upon him, looked at a tree that was behind him and said: Call it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called the tree, so it came and stood before him. Jibreel, peace be upon him, said: Command it to return. So he commanded it, and it returned. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Enough, enough” (meaning this sign is sufficient for me).
Hadith 24
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَتَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أَلَا أُرِيكَ آيَةً"، قَالَ: بَلَى، قَالَ: "فَاذْهَبْ فَادْعُ تِلْكَ النَّخْلَةَ"، فَدَعَاهَا فَجَاءَتْ تَنْقُزُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، قَالَ: قُلْ لَهَا تَرْجِعْ، قَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "ارْجِعِي"، فَرَجَعَتْ حَتَّى عَادَتْ إِلَى مَكَانِهَا، فَقَالَ: يَا بَنِي عَامِرٍ، مَا رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا كَالْيَوْمِ أَسْحَرَ مِنْهُ !.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man from Banu Amir came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Shall I show you a sign?" He said, "Show me." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Go and call that date-palm tree." So the man went and called the tree, and the tree came hopping towards him. The man said, "Tell it to go back." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Go back." So the tree returned to its place. Then the man from Banu Amir said, "O Banu Amir, I have never seen a greater magician than him till today."
