باب وَقْتِ النُّفَسَاءِ وَمَا قِيلَ فِيهِ:Chapter: Duration of Postnatal Bleeding and Opinions About It
Hadith 988
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَالَ: "إِنْ كَانَ لِلنُّفَسَاءِ عَادَةٌ، وَإِلَّا جَلَسَتْ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً".
Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If the customary period for a woman in postnatal bleeding is known, then that is fine; otherwise, she will remain (in waiting) for forty days.
