Hadith 91

أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ شُرَيْحٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ الْقُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أَبِي جَهْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَنَّ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ لَمَّا أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ { 1 } وَرَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا { 2 } سورة النصر آية 1-2، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "لَيَخْرُجُنَّ مِنْهُ أَفْوَاجًا كَمَا دَخَلُوهُ أَفْوَاجًا".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that when this Surah «﴿إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ ٭ وَرَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا ﴾» (An-Nasr: 1,2/110) was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Just as people entered (this religion) in multitudes, surely, in multitudes they will also leave."
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 90)
The prophecy of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has continued to be proven true over the passage of time. So many sects such as the Qadariyyah, Mu'tazilah, Rafidah, Batiniyyah, deniers of hadith, and Khawarij have arisen who left the religion in droves in this very manner. Therefore, one must avoid inventing new things in the religion, promoting them, and must be cautious and alert against such evil actions.
«﴿فَلْيَحْذَرِ الَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنْ أَمْرِهِ أَنْ تُصِيبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ أَوْ يُصِيبَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ﴾ [النور: 63]» Translation: "Behold! Those who oppose the command of the Messenger should beware lest a severe calamity befall them, or a painful punishment overtake them."
