باب الطُّهْرِ كَيْفَ هُوَ:Chapter: How Purity is Achieved
Hadith 884
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ صَاحِبَتِهِ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَكَانَتْ فِي حِجْرِ عَمْرَةَ، قَالَتْ: أَرْسَلَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ إِلَى عَمْرَةَ بِكُرْسُفَةِ قُطْنٍ فِيهَا كَالصُّفْرَةِ تَسْأَلُهَا: هَلْ تَرَى إِذَا لَمْ تَرَ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ الْحِيضَةِ إِلَّا هَذَا أَنْ قَدْ طَهُرَتْ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: "لَا، حَتَّى تَرَى الْبَيَاضَ خَالِصًا".
Fatimah bint Muhammad (who was raised by 'Amrah) said that a woman from the Quraysh sent a piece of cotton to 'Amrah, on which there was something yellowish, and asked: If a woman sees only such yellowness during her menstruation, is she considered pure? 'Amrah replied: No, not until the cotton comes out completely white (i.e., the woman is not pure yet).
