باب في وَفَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:Chapter: The Death of the Prophet
Hadith 88
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ، قَالَتْ: يَا أَنَسُ "كَيْفَ طَابَتْ أَنْفُسُكُمْ أَنْ تَحْثُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ التُّرَابَ ؟، وَقَالَتْ: يَا أَبَتَاهْ، مِنْ رَبِّهِ مَا أَدْنَاهْ، وَا أَبَتَاهْ جَنَّةُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ مَأْوَاهْ، وَا أَبَتَاهْ إِلَى جِبْرِيلَ نَنْعَاهْ، وَا أَبَتَاهْ أَجَابَ رَبًّا دَعَاهْ، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ: حِينَ حَدَّثَ ثَابِتٌ بَكَى، وقَالَ ثَابِتٌ: حِينَ حَدَّثَ أَنَسٌ بَكَى".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Anas! How did your hearts allow you to throw dust upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? She said: O my dear father! How close you are to your Lord. O my dear father! Jannat al-Firdaws is your abode. O my dear father! We inform Jibreel of your death. O my dear father! You have accepted the call of your Lord. Hammad said: When Thabit narrated these words, he wept, and Thabit said: When Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this, he wept.
