It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said during his final illness: "Pour seven water-skins of water over me from seven different wells so that I may go out and take a pledge from the people." The narrator said: We seated the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the bathing tub of Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) and poured water over him. Muhammad bin Ishaq was in doubt whether the narrator said «صب» or «شن» (both have the same meaning). When you felt some relief, you came out, ascended the pulpit, praised Allah Almighty, supplicated for the forgiveness of the martyrs of Uhud, and then said: "As for what follows, the Ansar are my sheltering home, so honor their noble ones and overlook the faults of their wrongdoers as much as possible. Listen, O people! One of Allah's servants was given the choice between the world and what is with Allah, and he chose what is with Allah." (Upon hearing this) Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and was convinced that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was referring to himself. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Wait, Abu Bakr, do not be hasty. O people! Close all the doors to the mosque from the street except the door of Abu Bakr. I do not recall anyone who has done more favor to me with his companionship than Abu Bakr."
