Qaqa' bin Hakim asked Sa'id (ibn al-Musayyib) about the issue of a woman with prolonged bleeding (mustahadah), so he said: Nephew! Is there anyone left who knows this issue better than me? When it is the days of menstruation, the mustahadah should leave the prayer, and when its period ends, she should perform ghusl (ritual bath) and pray.
