It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Fatima bint Abi Hubaysh said: "O Messenger of Allah! I am a woman who suffers from continuous bleeding (istihada), so should I stop praying in such a state?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, this is only a vein, it is not menstrual blood. Therefore, when the days of menstruation begin, leave the prayer, and when the period of menstruation is over, wash the blood, perform ablution, and offer the prayer." Hisham said: My father ('Urwah) used to say: When the period of menstruation is over, the woman will perform the first bath, and after that, clean herself and offer the prayer.
