It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the daughter of Jahsh suffered from the illness of istihada (non-menstrual bleeding) during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed her to perform ghusl (ritual bath) for every prayer. She would sit in a tub filled with water, immerse herself, and when she came out of the water, the blood would cover the surface of the water. Then she would perform the prayer.
