باب في غُسْلِ الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ:Chapter: Ghusl for the Woman with Prolonged Bleeding
Hadith 797
أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ، أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ ؟، قَالَ: "لَا، إِنَّمَا ذَلِكِ عِرْقٌ، فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ الْحَيْضَةُ، فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ، وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ، فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ، وَصَلِّي".
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyida Fatima bint Abi Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I am a woman who suffers from continuous bleeding; the blood does not stop, so should I stop performing prayers? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is blood from a vein (not menstruation), so when menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when the period of menstruation ends, wash the blood off and perform the prayer."
