It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) visited all his wives in one night.
Hadith Takhrijاس روایت کو امام أحمد نے [مسند 252/2] میں اور امام ابوداؤد نے بھی ذکر کیا ہے اور یہ بھی صحیح ہے۔
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 775 to 777)
In the first narration, the mention is of the day, and in the second narration, the mention is of the night, and what is meant by this is sexual intercourse (jima‘). Therefore, it is understood that even if there are four wives, after having intercourse with them, one ritual bath (ghusl) is sufficient. It should be noted that at that time the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had eleven wives, as is mentioned in the narration of Sahih al-Bukhari; see: [بخاري 284]. However, before having intercourse a second time or with another wife, it is preferable to clean oneself and perform ablution (wudu), because this restores vigor and alertness. «كما فى الحديث».
