باب الأَرْضِ يُطَهِّرُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضاً:Chapter: The Earth Purifies Itself
Hadith 765
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ وَلَدٍ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُطِيلُ ذَيْلِي فَأَمْشِي فِي الْمَكَانِ الْقَذِرِ ؟، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "يُطَهِّرُهُ مَا بَعْدَهُ"، قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ: تَأْخُذُ بِهَذَا ؟، قَالَ: لَا، أَدْرِي.
It is narrated from Umm Walad Ibrahim bin Abdur Rahman bin Awf that she came to Umm al-Mu'mineen, Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and said: "I keep my garment long and sometimes pass over dirty ground (i.e., the hem becomes impure)." Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The earth that comes after that impure earth purifies it." The narrator said: I asked Imam Darimi: Is this your verdict? He said: I do not know.
