أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ فَأْرَةً وَقَعَتْ فِي سَمْنٍ فَمَاتَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أَلْقُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا وَكُلُوهُ".
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a mouse fell into ghee and died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Remove the mouse and the ghee around it and throw them away, and eat the remaining ghee."
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 760)
In a narration of Nasa’i, it is also reported from Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Maymunah radi Allahu anha that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “If the clarified butter (ghee) is solidified, then remove the ghee from around it, and if it is melted, then do not go near it at all.”
That is, do not use it (in food and drink).
