أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ، قَالَ: "مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَهْلُ عَشَرَةِ أَبْيَاتٍ إِلَّا قَلَّبْتُهُمْ، فَمَا وَجَدْتُ أَحَدًا أَشَدَّ إِنْفَاقًا لِهَذَا الْمَالِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ".
Imam Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, said that Jibreel, peace be upon him, said: "There are not ten houses on the face of the earth that I have not seen, but I have not found anyone who spends this wealth more than the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him."

From all these narrations, one can gauge the generosity and munificence of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. There is a narration in the two Sahihs: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was the most generous of all people.
