It is narrated from Abu Abdur Rahman al-Sulami that Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: When the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is narrated to you, then be certain that it is the most guided, the most pious, and the most conforming.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Ahadith 609 to 611) Allamah Nawab Waheed uz-Zaman Khan has written: That is, consider the command of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to be of the highest degree of piety (taqwa) and guidance; interpret the ahadith according to their correct meanings, and do not entertain the thought of contradiction or inconsistency among them. And whatever is explicitly stated in the hadith, regard that alone as piety and guidance; do not consider anything contrary to it to be better in any way.
