Hadith 580

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَخْبَرَةَ، عَنْ سَخْبَرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "مَنْ طَلَبَ الْعِلْمَ، كَانَ كَفَّارَةً لِمَا مَضَى".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sakhbara (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks knowledge, it is an expiation for whatever has passed."
