باب الْبَلاَغِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَعْلِيمِ السُّنَنِ:Chapter: Conveying from the Messenger and Teaching the Sunnah
Hadith 578
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "إِذَا مَاتَ الْإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ: عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ، أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ تَجْرِي لَهُ، أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a charity that continues on his behalf, or a righteous child who prays for him."
