Hadith 563
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ هُوَ ابْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ، أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ مُفْتِيًا ؟، فَقُلْتُ: "لَا، وَلَكِنْ لَا آمَنُ أَنْ تَذْهَبُوا وَنَبْقَى"، فَقَالَ: "صَدَقَ أَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ".
Abu Al-Aliyah said: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about something, so he said: O Abu Al-Aliyah! Do you want to become a mufti? I said: No, but I am not safe from the possibility that you people will depart and we will remain. He said: Abu Al-Aliyah speaks the truth.
