Abu Kathir narrated that my father said: I came to Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was sitting near the middle Jamrah, and people were gathering around him asking for fatwas. A man came and stood before him and said: Will you not refrain from giving fatwas? Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) raised his eyes and said: Are you a guardian over me? Even if you were to place a sword on my neck and I felt I had the opportunity to say a single word that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I would surely say it before my neck was cut.
