باب مَنْ كَرِهَ الشُّهْرَةَ وَالْمَعْرِفَةَ:Chapter: Dislike of Seeking Fame and Recognition
Hadith 557
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي طَاوُسٌ: "مَا تَعَلَّمْتَ، فَتَعَلَّمْ لِنَفْسِكَ، فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ ذَهَبَتْ مِنْهُمْ الْأَمَانَةُ".
It is narrated from Laith bin Abi Sulaim: Imam Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) said to me: Learn knowledge for yourself, because trustworthiness has been lifted from the people.
