Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, no servant's feet will move until he is asked about four things: In what did he spend his life? In what did he use his body? How did he earn his wealth and where did he spend it? And how much did he act upon the knowledge he acquired?
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 553 to 556)
These narrations establish that on the Day of Resurrection there will be reckoning and questioning, and also that there will be an account regarding knowledge, lifespan, body, and wealth. Therefore, every servant should be mindful of these matters: Is life being spent in good deeds or not? Was the body and health utilized in good deeds or not? And where was wealth acquired from, and where was it spent? Was it in good deeds or in amusement, vain pursuits, evil, and desires? May Allah Ta’ala grant everyone understanding and the ability to act accordingly.
