باب مَنْ كَرِهَ الشُّهْرَةَ وَالْمَعْرِفَةَ:Chapter: Dislike of Seeking Fame and Recognition
Hadith 550
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: "فِتْنَةٌ لِلْمَتْبُوعِ، مَذَلَّةٌ لِلتَّابِعِ".
Saeed bin Jubair, may Allah have mercy on him, said: For the one who is being followed, there is trial, and for the one who is following, there is humiliation and disgrace.
