باب مَنْ لَمْ يَرَ كِتَابَةَ الْحَدِيثِ:Chapter: Those Who Disapproved of Writing Hadith
Hadith 481
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ نُعْمَانَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، أَنَّ عَبِيدَةَ دَعَا بِكُتُبِهِ فَمَحَاهَا عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ، وَقَالَ: "إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَلِيَهَا قَوْمٌ، فَلَا يَضَعُونَهَا مَوَاضِعَهَا".
It is narrated from Nu'man bin Qais that Ubaidah bin Amr, before his death, had his books brought to him and erased them, and also said: I fear that some people may find them and not place them in their proper context.
