أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: "انْظُرُوا عَمَّنْ تَأْخُذُونَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، فَإِنَّهُ دِينُكُمْ".
Imam Muhammad bin Sirin, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Be careful from whom or from what kind of person you take this hadith, for indeed this is your religion.

From all these narrations, it is understood that the knowledge of hadith and chains of transmission (isnad) is the foundation of the religion, and its observance is necessary.
