باب في فَضْلِ الْعِلْمِ وَالْعَالِمِ:Chapter: The Virtue of Knowledge and the Scholar
Hadith 359
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ هُوَ الْقُمِّيُّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِذَا رَأَى طَلَبَةَ الْعِلْمِ، قَالَ: "مَرْحَبًا بِطَلَبَةِ الْعِلْمِ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْصَى بِكُمْ".
It is narrated from ‘Amir bin Ibrahim that when Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the seekers of knowledge, he would say «مرحبا بطلبة العلم» “Welcome to the seekers of knowledge,” and he would say: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made a bequest regarding you.”
