حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ لِأَبِي مُوسَى وَكَانَ حَسَنَ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ: "لَقَدْ أُوتِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ".
Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say about Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, who recited the Qur'an with a very beautiful voice: "He has been given a voice like that of Dawud (David), peace be upon him."
Brief Explanation

Dawud (alayhis salam) was given the miracle of a beautiful voice (melodious tone); he would also recite the Zabur with a pleasant melody, and a wondrous atmosphere would be created (Raz rahimahullah).
«مَزَامِيْر مِزْمَار» is the plural of which is the name of a stringed instrument and a musical instrument; here, what is meant is melodiousness.
