It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be so many tribulations that a person will be a believer in the morning and become a disbeliever by evening, except for the one whom Allah keeps alive with knowledge."

Hadith Gradingتحقیق (حسین سلیم أسد الدارانی):إسناده ضعيف لضعف علي بن يزيد، [مكتبه الشامله نمبر: 350]
Hadith Takhrij
That is, due to knowledge, a person will remain protected from tribulations (fitan), and by tribulations are meant all kinds of tribulations which are also related to religion, faith, and creed. Therefore, a person must acquire knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah.
´It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There will be tribulation in which a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever by evening, except the one to whom Allah grants knowledge.”

Benefits and Issues: ➊ Our esteemed researcher has declared the mentioned narration weak in its chain, stating that the narration is authentic except for the last sentence (إِلَّامَنْأَحْياَءَاللهُبِالعِلم) — "except for the one whom Allah keeps alive through knowledge." Furthermore, this appears to be the opinion of other researchers regarding this hadith as well. See: (Da‘if Sunan Ibn Majah by al-Albani, no. 790, Maktabat al-Ma‘arif, Riyadh edition). Therefore, the mentioned narration is authentic except for the last sentence. And Allah knows best.
➋ Informing about events that will occur in the future is a miracle of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and a proof of his prophethood.
➌ The purpose of warning about tribulations (fitan) is that Muslims should be more mindful of safeguarding their faith in such circumstances.
➍ Some sins are such that a person considers them insignificant, whereas they are actually those that expel one from Islam. Therefore, no sin should be considered insignificant.
