حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بِسْطَامَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ: أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "مَنْ قَرَأَ بِمِائَةِ آيَةٍ فِي لَيْلَةٍ، كُتِبَ لَهُ قُنُوتُ لَيْلَةٍ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites one hundred verses in a night, for him the standing (qiyam) of one night will be recorded."
Brief Explanation

The meaning of "qanut" is to obey, to perform prayer with humility and submissiveness, and to show humility and weeping. "Qanitin" means those who are obedient and perform prayer with humility and submissiveness.
It is stated in the Noble Qur'an: « ﴿وَقُومُوا لِلّٰهِ قَانِتِينَ﴾ [البقرة : 238]» meaning, "Stand before Allah (in prayer) with silence," and one of the attributes of the believers is also «﴿وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْقَانِتَاتِ﴾ [الأحزاب : 35]».
